Most Grip LAT Pull Down Bar Overview

The Most Grip LAT Pull Down Bar looks to take a play on something similar to a MAG Grip. Even the name, Most Grip, seems to be borrowing from the Maximum Advantage Grip name.
When these arrived Audrey said “Aren’t those like the MAGs? They shouldn’t do that. You need to include that in your review.” Well said my friend.
They come in two different sizes, a close grip, and a wide version. You can also find these white labelled under a few other names from different companies like RitFit or snag them off Amazon. You are primarily going to use these for back day, much like the MAGs.

What The Most Grip LAT Pull Down Bar Does Well

The close grip can be used in a supinated and a pronated fashion, similar to a typical chin-up handle. This is a nice feature over the MAGs, because you get two in one. The wide gives us several hand hold options as well, changing widths and orientations, giving us more bang for our buck in each attachment.
Considering these cost less than an individual MAG grip, and they have more hand hold options, you in theory can own 1 attachment, do more, spend less, take up less storage space, you name it. They use a similar hard rubber coating on these as the MAGs too.
What The Most Grip LAT Pull Down Bar Does NOT Do Well

The close grip has this very prominent edge at the bottom, that during pulldowns or seated rows runs right into my sternum. The wide is built with the curvature going the wrong way, so it reduces the range of motion you can get.
The play on the paddle handles here is also done in a creative, but personally poorly executed fashion. The paddles work because you can wrap your hands around them, these don’t do that. And in an attempt to shove more options into one attachment, we have to have the handles in different heights and locations, which changes the feel of the pull between each handle in an awkward way.

They could have at least addressed the one issue with the MAGs, the carabiner hole. But they didn’t. So while we definitely have MORE grips than the MAGs, they don’t perform anywhere near as well.
Rating Of The Most Grip LAT Pull Down Bar

For us, these fall into the D Tier List. A poorly executed play on the OGs that doesn’t deliver in any department besides being cheaper and doing more on paper. These won’t be taking up permanent residence in our gym.

Wrap Up

The Most Grip LAT Pull Down Bar is far from a fan favorite in our gym. With only a couple of uses, me and my wife both decided they needed to move on. The real deal OG MAG Grips are still the king of the lat bars!
