INNODIGYM OMNI X1
I’m a huge VOLTRA fan. So much so that I even started a podcast interviewing people to better understand how to use them. But I also know that they aren’t the right fit for EVERY home gym. Sometimes you need something a little more “all in one”. Where the VOLTRA wins for its ability to integrate into a home gym with a rack, machines, and more, the INNODIGYM OMNI X1 is the ENTIRE home gym. Or at least, that is the idea.
The INNODIGYM OMNI X1 is now on the Review Pipeline.

Transparency Note
The INNODIGYM OMNI X1 and the INNODIGYM BENCH were sent over in early September, free of charge, for sake of review. I have an affiliate relationship with the team, but this product is not currently covered under that. The Innodigym team has given me a $300 collaboration fee, which helps cover some of the costs of this project (writing, editing, etc.).
They have asked for a pre-screen of the script for the review, but there is no contract in place that requires any edits (except where factually inaccurate), nor do they get to require any changes, or stop the review from being released in anyway. Their review is simply for accuracy, not for changing anything I say.
At the end of this project, we will be sharing OUR thoughts and opinions on this device.
INNODIGYM OMNI X1 Overview

I’ve had a VOLTRA for several years now. And my buddy Tim has been using it at my place for about a year and a half. My gym is his main gym, training here 3 days a week fairly consistently. He loves to VOLTRA too. He also enjoys the wide array of bars, attachments, and various nick nacks we have in the gym.
But sometimes, due to family, work, illness, and general life… making the trip up the street from his house to mine can be difficult. If he gets off work a little late, he can either see his kids before bed or get a workout in at my house. He coaches alongside me for soccer and basketball… if he does that, he probably doesn’t have time for a workout between work and practice. If he manages to get sick, I tell him to keep it in his house, no more workouts. He is also an HVAC tech, which means that summers are VERY busy on his end.
Tim was consistent with his workouts for about a year, and then this past summer hit and he missed multiple months in a row. We realized that as convenient as my home gym is for him, as well stocked as it is, there is just something beneficial about having a Plan B in your own home. And that is where the INNODIGYM OMNI X1 enters the discussion.

Tim and family have a small room off the side of their bedroom that serves as their workout area. The problem is that it is pretty cramped. On top of that, weights, bars, and clanging metal aren’t exactly conducive to a sleeping family. So trying to sneak in an early or late workout wasn’t working with their current layout.
The INNODIGYM OMNI X1 has replaced the bench, bar, and uprights, with the goal of being the VAST majority of their gym. They’ll keep the pull-up station, the Peloton bike, and the assortment of dumbbells. These will round out their gym. And Tim will still stop bye for a workout or two per week at my space, as his schedule permits.
But over the course of the next several months, Tim, his wife, and likely his kiddos, are going to tinker and test the INNODIGYM OMNI X1 in their upstairs bedroom gym to see how it blends into their workouts and life.
At the end of the project, I’ll take a whirl with it and share my expert opinion as well. We’ll walk through the pros and cons, compare to other options on the market, and discuss who this is for, and who should look elsewhere.

INNODIGYM OMNI X1 FAQ
I’ll build this out as questions come in.
Shipping & Assembly

The INNODIGYM OMNI X1 comes in one large box. The handles on the box are on the sides, which allow you to carry it horizontally, not vertically. As we needed to get this in the door, up the stairs, and around some corners, those handles were not helpful. I would like to see some additional hand holds built into the box for this. Otherwise, the inserts, the organization, everything was well done. Unpacking took just a couple minutes.
Set up overall was super simple, until we got to the QR Code process. We had a really tough time trying to get the QR code on the back of the unit to connect to the App through our phones. It probably took well over an hour. I think they need a Plan B. Provide a QR Code, but also let someone manually type in a serial number to connect, just in case.
INNODIGYM OMNI X1 Features

The INNODIGYM OMNI X1 is a full featured cable machine. We’ve got a left and right cable, giving us access to movements you would normally find on a functional trainer like various presses, rows, and more. Those cables can be dropped from the top of the machine, to the bottom platform and connected into a number of locations. This lets us access curls, squat variations, you name it. The uprights have a tear drop design that lets us add a j-cup style holder for your attachments, specifically the straight bar. This is how we do bench press variations, barbell squat variations, and anything where we are mimicking a barbell in a rack.
The large monitor is touchscreen, very bright, and very clear. You can access all of your workouts, sign in and out of your profile, adjust your weights, movements, you name it. When we first connected we had a firmware update, which is a positive sign that it automatically wanted to do this. It’ll be interesting to see how it handles updates moving forward, because I wouldn’t want it to interrupt a workout if I only had a few minutes, to give me an update.
We noticed it wasn’t obvious how to turn the monitor off after a workout. It seemed to be always on, without a very obvious on and off option, outside of unplugging it. More to figure out here.
The first initial run through was mostly positive. They’ve clearly figured out a few key factors for workouts including warm-ups, cool downs, rep counters, how to easily adjust the weight without issues, and keeping the workouts fairly simple for ease of flow. No one wants to change 6 different attachments between rounds.
With the 132lbs of resistance per handle, we are probably good to go for the majority of movements. The only exercises that MIGHT get a little questionable, are the big ones like squats, bench, and deadlift. I’m thinking this won’t ever be a 1 rep max testing station, so if we are doing those for 8+ rep sets, we’ll be fine.
Attachments
The INNODIGYM OMNI X1 comes standard with a bunch of attachments. These are all fairly straight forward and pretty basic. As a cable attachment snob, I don’t have any huge complaints, but also these aren’t winning any awards.
The coolest pieces here are the bluetooth controllers. The ring allows you to tap out as needed, even when holding onto a straight bar. Key feature for safety. And the D-Handles have controls in them as well, which allow you to turn on and off the resistance, so you can easily switch exercises without having to put the handles down.
All in, the included attachments should get us through a full range of exercises for back, chest, shoulders, arms, legs, and even pin-pointing some areas like glutes.
Vertical Storage & Mobility

This is one of the biggest selling points for a piece like the INNODIGYM OMNI X1, the space saving. Not only do we get a full gym set-up in a fairly space friendly package, it also folds up and stores against a wall. This means they now have access to the open floor for warm-ups, yoga, and whatever else they might want to tinker with.
The wheels on the unit are VERY small, and make it difficult to move on anything that isn’t a very FIRM floor. So your typical foam flooring was nearly impossible, we had to pick it up to move it. So there is some room for improvement there. And the unit is meant to store against a wall, not just stand upright. So you’ll need to make sure you have an open wall you don’t mind laying this against, alongside an easily accessible power outlet, and the ability to move it around and in place as needed.
INNODIGYM BENCH

The INNODIGYM BENCH is one of those, it wouldn’t stand out in a line-up of adjustable benches that I’ve owned and used before. But it makes pretty good sense in design for pairing with the INNODIGYM OMNI X1. It is simple, easy to move around, can drop into place, and has all the adjustment angles you’d want.
On top of that, we get storage inside the bench, which allows us to store away all of the attachments. One thing I did notice, is that it doesn’t have wheels, and you’ll need to be able to pick it up and put it on the platform to use. I think this could be done a little cleaner for those who might struggle moving a bench around.
What I’m Looking For In The INNODIGYM OMNI X1

From Tim and his families perspective, they are looking at this as being their Plan B gym. When they can’t make it to the “real” gym, will this get it done? This might also fill the gaps between sessions. So instead of 2 or 3 days at my house and that is it, he might be able to get 2 or 3 days at my house AND 2 or 3 days at his house.
In reality, with their schedule, with two kids, full time (and some) work, volunteering at the school, coaching sports, and much more… This is probably going to be a go-to solution much more often than originally planned. Plus, Tim’s wife is going to have knee surgery later this year. So she will be prepping this for her rehab work.
I personally need to see that this thing can work for them, but also how it fits into a workout. Do I have to follow their routines? Can I program my own workouts? Is there enough resistance, angles, options, to make this a full blown gym?
While the bench works, I also want to know how well this plays with friends. Can I roll an adjustable bench into here from any other company? Can we use other cable attachments? And of course, how does it compare to the VOLTRAs?
We’ll be taking notes, digging deeper, and sharing everything here soon.
Other Options On The Market
The most likely comparison here, is the TONAL. Pros and cons of the TONAL highly depend on the person who might own it. In fact I wrote up an entire article about that topic, alongside possible alternatives.
