Yosuda EM1 Long-Stride Magnetic Elliptical Machine

Cardio doesn’t need to be fancy. It just needs to be something you can do over and over and over. I’ve tried a lot of different cardio options over the years, but it has been well over a decade since I last stepped on an elliptical. When we finished the FEIER Star 100 Folding Treadmill Review we were left with a lot of mixed feelings. And then the team offered for us to take a ride on the Yosuda EM1 Long-Stride Magnetic Elliptical Machine. My wife and I discussed back and forth, took some measurements, and then took the plunge.
Over the next few months we will be using the Yosuda EM1 Long-Stride Magnetic Elliptical Machine for our daily walks and cardio needs with myself, my wife, my daughter, and other friends and family. Let’s see what happens.
The Yosuda EM1 Long-Stride Magnetic Elliptical Machine has been removed from our review pipeline and will not receive a full length review.

Shipping & Assembly

The shipping and assembly was pretty solid here. Everything comes in one large box, that had some pretty serious damage to it. But everything inside, thanks to the considerable packaging, was good to go. I like that they used these form fitting cardboard pieces instead of styrofoam. Syrofoam always requires me to use the vacuum after.
Assembly instructions were solid, no complaints. They even had a few nice features like having the monitor cable tied to the machine so you didn’t have to fish it out.
Yosuda EM1 Long-Stride Magnetic Elliptical Machine Features

Our dedicated space for cardio is small. So the Yosuda EM1 Elliptical really needed to pack a punch in a small form factor. We were originally offered the much larger Yosuda EM2, which looks freaking awesome for a lot of reasons. But it REALLY would have been a trouble to fit on our back patio.
The Yosuda EM1 Elliptical is just a LITTLE too long for our small space, but the piece that eats into that is that you can not get the front frame all the way up to a wall. The elliptical stride goes several inches past the front of the frame, creating a kind of deceptive total dimension.
The height and width of the Yosuda EM1 Elliptical are very compact. This easily fits on a single row of horse stall mats, and even at my 6ft height, I’m nowhere near the roof. Something I would have to be conscious of with larger units and stair steppers.
The Yosuda EM1 Elliptical comes with some LARGE footplates, which is good. At my 6ft 250lb frame, I have an 11.5 size shoe which clocks in fairly wide as well. So far, I have had no issues with this.
The Yosuda EM1 Elliptical is SUPER quiet. While our last treadmill was difficult to use and watch TV at the same time, this is whisper quiet.

It comes with a resistance knob that lets you adjust the flywheel resistance. As a heavy powerlifter, I’m typically in need of some decent resistance, otherwise I just kind of fly through things. It will be interesting to see where me, my wife, and my daughter land on the resistance over time.
The monitor is a VERY basic monitor with a few options. I’ll need to tinker with it, but out the gate it seems to be very similar to the other monitors I have used. In that I mean very unhelpful and hard to manage. It is also not backlit from what I can tell so far, which makes it useless at night.
The handles have a firm rubber grip, and sit decently well in the hands. This isn’t a 1 rep max deadlift, so no problems here. I also haven’t noticed out the gate that there is any wobble and shaking to the Yosuda EM1 Elliptical, so that is promising.
Storage & Mobility

The Yosuda EM1 Elliptical has wheels, but does not fold up in any way to become smaller for storage. I was able to wheel it from my garage for pictures, to my backyard for use, though it was pretty difficult to navigate due to the long handles. Overall, you can definitely move this, but I wouldn’t plan to do it regularly.
What I’m Looking For In The Yosuda EM1 Elliptical

First, I need to enjoy this enough that I use it consistently. Second, I need to hate it enough that it works. Cardio needs to be effective, and if I am dedicating $1000 and some space to a cardio machine, instead of going for a walk or riding my bike, it better add up.
I’m also curious to see how the Yosuda EM1 Elliptical seems to compare to our treadmill. I was sweating bullets on the treadmill after 10 minutes. Will this do the same? I’m going to use it for daily walks and cardio, as well as longer distance work on the weekends, and HIIT style sessions paired with our new Ski-Erg. I have some bodyweight targets and diet goals for 2026, and the Yosuda EM1 Elliptical is hopefully going to be a big part of helping me reach those.
On top of that, my wife has some goals as well. She also has a wonky knee that doesn’t like a lot of cardio, so we’ll see if the Yosuda EM1 Elliptical does what she needs it to do.
Last will be, will the Yosuda EM1 Elliptical work for my daughter. At 8 years old she likes to tinker with gym equipment. She is a monster soccer player, so we will see if this does the trick for her as well.
