My favorite Specialty Bar manufacturer historically was Edge Fitness Systems. They made American Made equipment for a quality price. They no longer make the majority of their bars. Companies that have my eye include Prime Fitness, Arsenal Athletics, and Black Widow Training Gear. I’ve got several specialty bar reviews on the way, so make sure you are signed up for the newsletter so you don’t miss anything.
Specialty bars are fun, can add some novelty to your training, can attack weaknesses, and can help you work around injuries. But don’t think you NEED specialty bars. Even as an owner of a dozen of them, I can tell you that you absolutely do not NEED one to get stronger. But when was NEED the thing that stopped us in a home gym from buying that next toy we wanted? If I had a huge budget, I’d own every specialty bar out there, from every manufacturer, because they are all just a LITTLE different.
