Leviathan Nutrition Supplements Review

I like to experiment. Experiment with food, exercises, stretches, different recovery protocols, and supplements. I also have a fun, complicated family history of health problems. Some caused by stuff like Vietnam or poor life choices, others not so much. But regardless, I’m always concerned about being on the bigger side of the scale at 240+, paired with genetic factors, and what that might mean for my long term abilities on this planet. Supplements often claim HUGE opportunities, and deliver very meek results. None the less, I’m often intrigued enough to give things a shot for awhile and see what happens. This is where Leviathan Nutrition comes in.
Key Notes
Leviathan Nutrition makes some cool stuff. You just likely need to make sure that you are their target audience before spending the money on it.
Leviathan Nutrition is a relatively newer supplement company. They are aimed at making some VERY comprehensive supplements for common ailments in the bodybuilder and powerlifter world. Stress, heart, kidney, liver, and more. They are focused on making you healthier, so you can strive for your goals. They aren’t making protein powder or creatine, or the next great pre-workout. Health first and foremost, which I can definitely get behind. The VAST majority of my supplement budget is tied to health. I’ve ran several months of a handful of their products, so I wanted to share my experiences.
Leviathan Nutrition TUDCA
When I was in my early twenties, I was trying to get medical insurance for myself. I had to get a physical and blood work done. The insurance company ended up denying me because my liver counts were high. We did a bunch of follow up tests, and there was nothing. We deemed it as my natural numbers.
A few years later we ran a test where I stopped lifting for a few weeks, did blood work, and compared. The liver counts went down. After reading some Mayo Clinic articles, and understanding blood work from John Meadows and Shelby Starnes, I found out that this was normal. Liver counts can be raised due to the stress of training. Typically, this isn’t anything to be concerned about. That said, I wanted to explore supplements that might support my liver function.
See if I could get it into a normal range despite my lifting appetite. I’ve tried a half dozen options over the years, and TUDCA was my most recent attempt. None of the other supplements worked, so Leviathan Nutrition TUDCA had a large hill to climb.
Since I had a very specific goal here, I have before and after blood work tests. The unfortunate result is that it didn’t seem to do anything for me. Leviathan Nutrition TUDCA is definitely intended for the typical bodybuilder who is taking anabolics. This puts excessive strain on their liver. So, I’m not exactly the target market. Take home note here, if you are using anabolics, consider taking TUDCA, but measure your before and after. If you aren’t, you can probably skip this one.
Leviathan Nutrition IRE
In the past I’ve taken some of the ingredients in this formula individually. This comprehensive formula makes my life a lot easier. Plus, I get a LOT more in the supplement this way. I basically consider this, plus my Superfood as my catch-all health supplement. If I was hanging around the 200lb mark and didn’t have any family history of health issues, I’d likely skip IRE due to the cost. But hanging around the 250lb mark, with a family history of heart attack, stroke, diabetes, and more… I feel better taking this and trying to give myself a little reassurance that I am going to be around for a while.
Blood Work
In terms of blood work improvement, I notice a bit of blood sugar improvement. Also very few issues with my cholesterol and other comprehensive blood panel. Even at the higher ends of my diet at 3500+ calories and close to 260lbs walking around weight. I show my work to my doctor and his stance is that my blood work looks fantastic. Knowing that I’m eating a lot and putting myself through stressful workouts alongside running my own business and having a 4-year-old kid and more, my numbers are more than solid.
When I drop weight, eat less, and drop my stress, my numbers look even better. I’m not saying they are perfect, and this isn’t a… eat like shit and take this magic pill… kind of supplement, as nothing truly is. But there is some good data backing my decisions. Alongside me simply putting my faith in a long list of spectacular ingredients. The number of guys taking Leviathan Nutrition IRE and seeing really remarkable improvements in their blood work is promising as well. Even though I’m pretty sure I’m not dumping the same compounds into my body as they are.
IRE is going to stay in my rotation for the long haul, maybe forever. If you are in a similar boat as me, give it a shot.
Leviathan Nutrition GI Support
Following on the family history train, The Gray’s have a history of digestion problems. From infrequent bathroom trips, to colon cancer, we got it. So, paying attention to digestion is a big deal for me. I eat homemade sauerkraut daily, raw kefir, yogurt, and drink homemade kombucha twice a day to make sure I get plenty of probiotics. We have plenty of raw and cooked vegetables. I avoid most refined sugars throughout the week, and pay attention to hydration and other factors. But, with my family history I’m always on the lookout for a little boost.
A lot
I tried digestive enzymes, and those worked for a short period of time and then gave me problems I didn’t have originally, which is super common. Your body adapts to the new norm, stops doing its normal thing, and boom… issues! I’ve taken probiotics in the past, with mixed results. Again, super common, mostly because we just don’t understand the microbiome enough, paired with the struggles of trying to ship the little beasties alive and have them do their thing, paired with the idea that we want our biome to expand correctly and probiotics could just be giving our gut what it already has, amongst probably a million other things.
When Leviathan Nutrition came out with the digestive aid I was intrigued, and when I saw people comment about it clearing up their skin, I was DOUBLE intrigued. I’ve had a skin issue for over a decade that I’ve tried about two dozen different remedies with no success. There aren’t any real blood tests I know of or anything super concrete for testing improvements in digestion, instead you have to rely on if you feel better or notice anything.
After several months of taking 2 caps three times a day, I don’t believe I’ve seen any positive notes. I don’t magically have zero gas, or poop amazingly 4 times a day, nor did my skin issues clear up at all.
Target
Again, I might not be the target audience here. I already do a TON for digestion, and I don’t have any severe digestion issues, so maybe I’m trying to treat a problem that doesn’t exist.
The good news for me, is I can check this one off my list and move on. No harm no foul. It won’t be a regular part of my routine, but if you suffer from IBS or any acid-based issues or other digestion problems, you might want to consider this for a test run. A lot of solid feedback from others who have ongoing regular digestion issues.
Leviathan Nutrition Vizure
I’ve also tried Leviathan’s stress relief supplement, but only ran one bottle. I personally tend to use these types of supplements when I’m feeling run down, opposed to a daily or even weekly item, and Leviathans didn’t seem to do much for me or my wife. We have another 1 or 2 that we fall back on regularly that are both cheaper and seem to feel more impactful. These could be placebo, but Leviathans make up just didn’t seem to really hit the mark for us.
I did like that it didn’t have a few items in it that tend to give me sleep problems if taken late at night, like GABA. This meant I was able to take it pretty much at any point, including right before bed or even during a mid night wake up. But again, outside of maybe some placebo effect of “I just took something to feel better, so I feel better”, I’m not sure I ever noticed anything legit.
Overall
I really like what Leviathan Nutrition is doing in terms of actually getting people to take blood work before, and after, taking supplements. This gives us a hard and fast answer on whether the various compounds are doing their intended job. For some of these guys who are all kinds of out of whack, Leviathan’s supplements seem to be a HUGE step in the right direction. I think what I’ve learned is that I’m probably just not that messed up, and thus adding a bunch of supplements that are good for you, on top of an already healthy diet and supplement regime, isn’t adding much. I’m talking about moving the needle a fraction of a percentage.
I’d have no problems taking these things for free, as they certainly didn’t seem to cause any negative side effects, but my money isn’t going to continue to go towards some pills that I don’t see a legit change in the right areas. So, I’ll stick with IRE based on the idea that I have seen improvements and I believe it helps me cover a lot of ground around areas where I have a predisposition to have problems. And then I’ll skip the rest.
I’ll be keeping an eye on Leviathan for any future supplements they might roll out with. Let me know if you have any additional ideas or supplement review requests.
