Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun Review – 2024
Last updated on December 19th, 2024 at 02:37 pm
I’m a fairly big dude. 6ft and 250lbs (260 currently). This means that everything from chairs to beds to clothes to gym equipment, needs to accommodate my size. Otherwise I break it. So, will the Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun be enough for me? Lets find out.
Key Notes
For average human beings and anyone but those searching for the deepest of massages, the Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun is a compact and powerful choice for under $100!

I actually got this unit sent to me for free. Thanks Bob and Brad! I have used my Hypervolt massage gun RELIGIOUSLY for years, and it has started to fall apart. So I was excited to get one in new condition. I hope the following demonstrates an honest review, despite me not paying for it. I received the unit in early March of 2023.
Bob & Brad also sent me their X6 Pro Massage Gun at the same time for a side by side, so check out that review too. I include additional details and comparisons in that review, so you DEFINITELY need to read them both.
Overview of the Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun
The Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun has 5 speeds, comes with 5 different heads, and has a built in battery in the handle. This is a LIGHTWEIGHT and PORTABLE massage gun, weighing only 1.5lbs! You could sneak this thing into your briefcase, gym bag, carry on, or even your purse for a little personal massage time (no not that kind). In fact, they are TSA Approved for carry-on luggage.
The unit has a brushless motor. I’ve recently dipped into the world of power tools. So I’ve learned that this means it stays quieter, produces less heat, and should last longer with better performance.
The max speed is 3200rpm, and it has a 10 minute auto-off built in feature. Since this is meant to be portable, this is a great feature. You won’t have it rumbling around in your car trunk or gym bag and draining your battery to zero.
My favorite feature, is that it charges through USB Type C. I charge my phone and basically every other device I own at this point via USB Type C. My car has USB, my computer, everything. It was nice to not have an additional charger that took up real estate on my power brick and desk. Plus, you pretty much KNOW you are going to be able to charge this thing anywhere.
Initial Thoughts of The Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun
This thing is QUIET. If you read my Hyperice Hypervolt review from several years back, you know that I originally picked that unit because of how quiet it was. I use my massage guns PRIMARILY while we watch TV shows and before bed as we are relaxing. I didn’t want a Jigsaw hammering away as it was time to relax.
The Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun is WAY quieter than I expected. Like, you could be using it and other people might not know you are using it, in the same room, even on the highest setting.
Their site claims less than 60dB at the highest setting. According to Decibel Pro, “60 decibels is as loud as a normal conversation between two people sitting at a distance of about one meter (3 ¼ feet)“. So you could have a conversation over the top of using it. Or comfortably watch a TV Show or movie and not disturb anyone trying to hear the dialogue.
Battery
I received it at the beginning of March, and with daily use, the first charge was on 4/10. So let’s be conservative and say if you plan to do a daily massage routine, you probably have about 1 month of battery life waiting for you.
As I mentioned earlier, I REALLY like that the unit charges via USB C. It charges QUICK, and doesn’t require extra hardware. My Hyperice Hypervolt had a battery that was removable. Potentially helpful in a professional setting where you might need to hot swap batteries, but mostly an annoyance in an at home setting. In fact, the number one issue at this point with it is that the battery clip broke, and the bottom piece of the battery had to be taped into place. If it was an all-in-one unit, this wouldn’t have happened. Nice benefit for the Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun.
You could make an argument that being able to replace a dead battery is nice. But Hyperice has released MULTIPLE new versions of the Hypervolt since I purchased mine in 2019. So I doubt you are going to spend $50 on a new battery instead of a little more for a brand new updated unit.
The Case
The Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun comes with a nice carrying case that holds all the goodies, including the 5 massage head attachments, the gun itself, two replacement o-rings for the attachments, a USB C Cable and the instruction manual.
The case for the Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun is small, in a good way. It measures 8″ x 11″ x 3″, which is the same size as my tablet (other than the 3″ deep). It has a nice exterior look and feel, and the interior holds the majority of the pieces where you want them. In fact, you can see below we even held it upside down and everything stayed in place. Pretty impressive.
The one thing I don’t like about the case, is I’d prefer a zipper to keep the pamphlet, cable, and o-rings in their place. It doesn’t have to be a zipper by the way, could be a snap ring, Velcro, something to keep the items from coming loose in travel and falling on the floor when I open it.
The Attachments
The Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun comes with 5 different attachments. They are all a hard plastic base with varying tips to achieve a different massage for different areas of the body. In my experience with my Hyperice Hypervolt, the Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun, and the Bob and Brad X6 Pro Massage Gun… I pick one attachment and use it for everything.
Now, if I was using this ON a patient, or another human being, I might choose a different attachment for different areas. I know that wife prefers the nerf ball type attachment, where as I prefer the jackhammer pointed tip.
The good news with getting 5 attachments, is that you can find the one you like the best. Or potentially you will have preferences for your legs, arms, neck, etc. I’m just not that picky I guess?
Performance Of The Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun
The biggest thing for me, is that I am 6ft 250+lbs. I’m a little thick in the thighs, and pretty much everywhere else. It takes some pressure to make a dent in these muscles. The Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun is pretty small, and meant for travel. Would it do well as a daily driver for me?
The end result here is that I use the Bob and Brad X6 Pro Massage Gun every night, as it has some more power behind it. The C2 is my wife’s go-to massage gun as it has MORE than enough power for her. In fact she often uses it on a low setting. To be fair to the C2, I could probably use a jigsaw on full blast and be fine. I use to use a thick PVC pipe as my foam roller with no cover. I’ve been abusing my muscles through soft tissue manipulations for well over a decade. My wife, a much more normal human being, the C2 is AWESOME.
You can see with the chart above (found on their Amazon page) that the X6 has an additional 15lbs of stall force on it. I guess I need to check out the D6 Pro Massage Gun next, huh?
If we were to travel, we’d bring the C2 with us. Easier to use, smaller package, easier to charge, and it is effective for both of us. The X6 gets the daily treatment as I run through two-a-day workouts and beat myself up.
Wrap Up
So the Bob and Brad C2 Massage Gun is a GOOD massage gun, it is just a little light on the juice for a daily driver at home massage gun for this 250+lb dude.
If you are a much more normal person looking to add a quality massage gun at a great price, this is a solid option.
